Ammonite Fossil Cut and Polished Pair Small 33mm

Ammonites are an extinct fossilised sea creature that lived over 60 million years ago, similar to the present day Nautilus.  They had a coiled external shell which is commonly found as a fossil in ancient sea beds and usually measure a few centimetres across, although larger ammonite fossils up to 2 metres have been found. 

Ammonites take their name from the Egyptian creator God, Amun, and in Greek mythology the God Zeus Ammon is depicted with curling, ram like horns.  They were also thought by some to be the fossilised bodies of snakes, and earnt the name "snakestone". 

Spiritually, they represent coming full circle, returning to centre or self and can be used for ancestor connection or past life work.  They can also be used as a talisman for birthing or fertility workings due to their connection with the creator God Amun and the spiral/cycle of life.  

These ammonites have been cut in half and polished, revealing the beautiful crystalline inner chambers.  

You will receive both halves of the ammonite with each ammonite being unique.  

PLEASE NOTE: One half of this ammonite has been damaged during the cutting process, so it is sightly smaller than the second half.  Price has been reduced accordingly.
