Prayer flags are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the person who hangs the flag and those in the surrounding area. As wind passes over the surface of the flags, which are sensitive to the slightest movement of the wind, the air is purified and blessed by the mantras. Prayer flags moving in the wind generate a natural positive energy. Over time, your flag will fray and fade. This is a natural part of the process and it is believed that as they fray, the strands blow into the wind, releasing the prayers to the Universe.
