Glass jar candles, also known as novena candles, are used in 7 day spell workings.  Often decorated with images or stickers on the glass, these candles can be fixed for a specific intention.  Plain coloured candles can be fixed for a working by poking holes into the wax and adding essential oils, anointing the jar with oil or putting a small amount of herb into the top of the jar.  You can also personalise your glass jar novena candle by drawing sigils or other symbols onto the jar with a permanent marker.
